Instructions
- Peel the potatoes and cut them into 1/4-inch thick sticks.
- Place the cut potatoes in a bowl of cold water and soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.This step helps achieve crispier fries.
- Drain the potatoes and dry them thoroughly using clean kitchen towels or paper towels.
- Heat the oil in a deep fryer or heavy pot to 325°F (163°C). Use a thermometer to monitor the temperature carefully.
- Fry the potato sticks in batches for about 3-4 minutes until soft but not browned. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Increase the oil temperature to 375°F (190°C).
- Fry the potatoes again in batches for 2-3 minutes until they are golden and crispy.
- Remove the fries with a slotted spoon and drain on fresh paper towels. Immediately season with salt to taste.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces.
